Barbara Ann Corcoran
Barbara Ann Corcoran (born March 10 1949) is an American businesswoman investor and speaker. She is also a consultant, speaker writer, syndicated columnist, TV personality, author and author. The Corcoran Group, an NYC-based real estate brokerage, was founded by Corcoran. NRT bought it in 2001 for $66 million. Corcoran then left the business. One of the show's first "Shark" investors, Corcoran has appeared in the entire 12 seasons of ABC's Shark Tank until now. In February of 2020 Corcoran was involved in 53 deals, the most significant being a $350,000 deal that was able to cover 40 percent of Coverplay. Corcoran, who was the second of 10 children from a family of Irish Catholics who worked hard, was born in Edgewater in New Jersey. Florence Corcoran's mother was a household worker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. was her father. He was constantly moving from one job to the next during Corcoran’s childhood. The family depended on food delivery services for free from a local grocery store. Corcoran claims her father was drunk who was rude to her mother and sarcastic remarks. Corcoran had difficulty in school, and later found out that she had dyslexia. Corcoran entered high school in St. Cecilia High School Englewood after she had left her Catholic elementary school. Corcoran, who had failed several courses in her freshman year, moved to Leonia High School. There she was awarded a D.
